SSI DIVE PROFESSIONAL CROSSOVER

The SSI Professional Crossover Program gives candidates from other diving organizations an overview of the SSI
Training philosophy and procedures. It imparts the knowledge and skills to carry out SSI programs equivalent to existing qualifications, safely and in a pleasant manner for the customer.

What options are there for the SSI Dive Professional Crossover:

a. Professionals, certified by recognized diving training organizations

Professionals certified by SSI recognized diving organizations can participate in the SSI Professional Crossover Program.

b. Professionals certified by unrecognized diving training organizations

Divemaster candidates who have been certified by non-SSI recognized diving organizations must successfully complete an Experienced Divers test in order to receive the Non-Professional SSI Dive Guide certification. After receiving the certification, you can achieve active status as SSI professionals. In addition, after completing the Science of Diving program , they can achieve the Divemaster recognition level.

Assistant instructor candidates who have been certified by non-SSI recognized diving organizations must successfully complete a full SSI Dive Professional Crossover Program.

Open Water Instructor candidates who have been certified by non-SSI recognized diving organizations can successfully complete a full SSI Dive Professional Crossover Program. In order to receive the certification, however, they must also take part in an instructor evaluation , in which their knowledge and skills are assessed at the professional level. An SSI Instructor Certifier in active status can conduct both the Professional Crossover Program and the Instructor Evaluation with the candidate.


Requirements for participants
• Minimum age: 18 years
• Must have an equivalent certification from a diving association at the cross-over level
and active status within the last 2 years.
• Must meet all minimum qualifications for certification on the certification to be crossed.
• A Divemaster Crossover candidate must pass a qualification assessment of his or her theoretical knowledge
(Science of Diving) and its practical skills.
• Dive Professional from other diving associations that have been inactive for more than two (2) years must
Follow procedures to return to active status.

Requirements for passing
• All requirements met and all assessments passed as in the Crossover Instructor Manual
described.
• Passing the program-specific final test with at least 90%.
